EndSARS:I Didn't Create The Military Engagement At Lekki Toll Gate I Don't Have Such Power-Sanwo-Olu

The #EndSARS protest might have come and gone, but the memories is still in the minds of Nigerians, particularly the Youths who occupied Lekki Toll Gate on October 20, 2020. The events that occurred that day made Nigerians to ask the executive governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu who gave the order.

In a live video that is aired on Nigeria Info FM, Babajide Sanwo-Olu is being interviewed, and he has so far stated his plans for Lagos people if elected for another 4 years.

When the interviewer asked him to comment on the events of the #EndSARS protest in Lagos State and other parts of Nigeria, Sanwo-Olu said that he was at the forefront when the protest started, and that he was not the one who created the events at Lekki Toll Gate, neither did he create the military engagement.

Sanwo-Olu said if people really know the constitution, they should be aware that he does not have such power to give an order that led to the military engagement.

In his words, he said:

"In all of the three weeks when the incident was on, I led it from the front. I did not create the events and the military engagement (at Lekki Toll Gate). If you understand the constitution, you will know that the governor does not have such powers."
