FORMER PRESIDENT, CHIEF OLUSEGUN OBASANJO COMMENDS PRESIDENT BUHARI'S LAST NIGHT SPEECH.
Former Nigerian president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has commended the speech made by President Muhammadu Buhari last night, after a spate of protests that metamorphosed into riots in some parts of Nigeria.
Speaking after a meeting of past presidents of Nigeria, the former president, Obasanjo declared:
''I commend the speech of last night. The nation had been waiting. You made points that I believe need to be commended. Peaceful demonstration is part of democratic practice. The demands of the genuine protesters were accepted, and you are working on implementation. We commend you,''.
Present at the meeting were; General Yakubu Gowon, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, Chief Ernest Shonekan, General Abdulsalam Abubakar and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan who all applauded his efforts.
Hopefully, peace will return to Nigeria after this meeting, with every Nigerian returning to their normal way of life.
