Two Major Differences Between Goodluck Jonathan And Muhammadu Buhari's Tenure

Have you ever thought of some of the things that changed or some of the major differences between Goodluck Jonathan and Buhari led administration?

Looking at the unfolding of events in the Muhammadu Buhari led administration, it became imperative that we look into some of the things that changed and possible ways out.

1. Oil: As we all know, Nigeria is one of the major oil producing countries in the world, this makes the country depend a lot on the revenue it generates from the sales of oil.

However, a lot has changed in the oil sector from the time of Goodluck Jonathan till date. Some of these changes include price and production rate.

As for 2014 – 2015, crude oil was sold at around $96.29 — $49.49 per barrel, while in 2020 - 2021 crude oil was sold at around $41.47 — $65.75 per barrel.

2. Debt Profile: It is no longer news that Nigeria's debt profile has been increasing since 1999 till date. However, how much has changed in Nigeria's debt between Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari's time in office?

Goodluck Ebele's tenure in 2011 kicks off with an accumulated debt of N6.17 trillion, by the end of his tenure in 2015, Nigeria's debt stood at N9.8 trillion.

However, the Buhari led administration kicked off in 2015 with Nigeria's debt standing at N9.8 trillion and later accumulated an accrued debt of N17.09 trillion as on March 2021.

With the above differences between these two regimes, Nigerians should know where they came from and where they currently stand.
