It is no news that the All Progressive Congress in Ondo state have held their governorship primaries and a governor Akeredolu has emerged as the party's flag bearer for the next governorship election in the state. It was gathered that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu won in all the 18 local government areas of the state by a wide margin having polled 2725 votes out of the 3127 votes
Prior to the election, 12 candidates were screened for the primary elections but hours to the start of the election, four contestant stepped down in other to support governor Akeredolu. They are; Mr Ife Oyedele, Dr Olusegun Abraham, Jimi Odimayo and Dr Nathaniel Adojutelegan.
Meet the four men behind governor Akeredolu primary election success
1. Ife Oyedele: He hails from Ode Aye in Okitipupa local government. He attended University of Lagos where he bagged Bsc in Engineering. He is currently the Executive Director (Engineering and Technical Services), Niger Delta Power Holding Company.
2. Olusegun Abraham: He hails from Ikare AkokoHe was one of the pioneering members of the All Progressives Congress when it was still called Alliance for Democracy. He was one of the two aspirants under the platform of the All Progressives Congress who ran for the office of Governor at the 2016 Ondo State gubernatorial election, but lost out to Oluwarotimi Akeredolu at the primaries.
3. Jimi Odimayo: He hails from Irele in Ondo state. He is an organizational building and restructuring expert, Okunjimi Odimayo functions as Managing Director and Chief Executive officer of Arowolo Group Limited.
4. Nathaniel Adojutelegan: Nathaniel Adojutelegan is a Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration with Nat Ado Solicitors. He is the former Special Assistant to the Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Prof. Claudius Daramola.
Without mincing words, one could say that the success stories of governor Akeredolu could be attributed to these four men of honour and valour who decided to support Akeredolu despite purchasing form for millions of naira. Their support for the emergence of the governor cannot be underestimated.
Come October 10, 2020, Akeredolu will be contesting against whosoever that emerges from the Peoples Democratic Party and other political parties.
