As part of the effort to have a documented Constitution that will serve as a fundamental principle for the Old Students Association of Government Technical College, Ikot Ada Idem, the Constitution Drafting Committee has presented the drafted Constitution to the President of the association, Engr Ukeme Okpob.
The Committee which was led by its Chairman, Mr Ememobong Atia made the presentation at the President's residence in Uyo on Tuesday 16th March, 2021.
Mr Atia explained that the drafted Constitution has contained the fundamental principles according to which the association is acknowledged to be governed as well as the acceptable behaviors of members.
The President of the association Engr. Ukeme Okpob while receiving the drafted Constitution commended the Constitution Drafting Committee for the good job done and assured that vetting process will begin immediately.
He said that after vetting of the drafted constitution, the constitution will be presented to the General House for ratification on Sunday 21st March, 2021.
Engr. Okpob noted that having a constitution for the association is a welcome development that will regulate the behavior of members and duties of each elected position.
The Constitution Drafting Committee members are Mr Ememobong Ime Atia - Chairman, Mr Oto-Obong Tom Sampson - Member, Mr Saviour Sunday Ukpong - Member, Engr. Oto-Obong Archilleus Obot - Member, while Engr. Imo Akpan Ukpong serve as the Secretary.
