Incumbent governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has disclosed that President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was never offered the office of the presidency, but he had to put in his efforts to make sure that he won the 2023 presidential election.
The former PDP 2023 presidential candidate who made such statement during Rivers State Banquet in honour of Bola Ahmed Tinubu's visit to Rivers State yesterday, revealed that the first time he met the former Lagos State governor was at his house in 2018, adding that he asked Bola Ahmed Tinubu to join his party and assist the presidential and vice presidential candidates of his party when the APC was having issues then.
According to Governor Nyesom Wike, when President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was told the candidates of the PDP, he stated that he will support president Muhammadu Buhari two hundred times, rather than support the presidential and vice presidential candidates of the PDP.
Nyesom Wike went ahead to disclose that;
"And I know he's prepared. Nobody dashed him power, all of us we saw it, he went and he worked for the power, and you see the benefits of it, when they dash you power, you slack, but when you fight for power, you work. Go and ask anybody".
