The Plateau State local government election may have come and gone but the political parties in the state are still divided over the conduction of the council poll.

The election was a total victory for the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state that recorded hundred percent victory in the council poll.
According to a report by Sahara Reporters, the Plateau State Chairman of Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC), Fabian Ntung, announced the ruling All Progressives Congress as the winner of all the 17 local government chairmanship positions and the winner of all the 325 councillorship seats in the State.

In total, the ruling party won all the 342 offices contested during the Plateau local government election which was held on Saturday.
Two major things helped the ruling All Progressives Party to win all the 342 offices contested during the local government election.
One of the things that helped the ruling party to record hundred percent success in the Saturday Plateau local government election is the people's acceptance of the ruling party in the State.
APC wouldn't have been able to defeat PDP in the local government election without the acceptance of the people of the State.
The victory of APC in all the 342 offices contested has shown that the people of Plateau state accepted the party and voted for all its candidates overwhelmingly.
APC's influence And Structures In the State
Another thing that contributed to the victory of APC in the Plateau local government election is the influence of the party and its structures in the state.
Recall that Plateau State is under the control of APC, the ruling party has much influence in the state with strong political structures which helped the party to win all the 17 local government chairmanship offices and the 325 councillorship positions.

Although, the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has condemned the conduct of the election and described it as selections and appointment of APC members into the council offices.
