With less than 24 hours to what has been predicted to be the most keenly contested governorship election in Lagos in Nigeria's recent democratic history, Elder Statesman Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart, Chief Bode George has come out to explain why he is certain that the candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour will protect the interest of ordinary Lagosians if elected on the ballots on Saturday.
Speaking during a public meeting of prominent PDP members known as 'Omo Eko Pataki' on Thursday, Chief George stated that the group had carefully studied the four frontline candidates in the governorship race, and despite how cerebral and intelligent they all appear to be, it has been discovered that among all of them, only Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour possesses the character of a true Lagosian that always seeks to protect the interests of the ordinary people.
He said; "We have looked deeply at the character behind every facade, and we came to a conclusion that out of the three major contenders -though there is a fourth one called Funsho Doherty, also very cerebral. But we looked at them and checked which one will, first of all, represent the interests of the ordinary people of this state, and secondly, will be a reflection of what we believe is the true spirit of 'Omo Eko'. That person is Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour."
