The 2019 presidential candidate of the PDP who spoke passionately at the 94th NEC meeting of the PDP understands that it will be a difficult task to grab the presidential ticket of the PDP this time around.

The Waziri of Adamawa as he is fondly called reminded Southern Nigeria of some of the sacrifices he made to ensure that Southern Nigeria was duly compensated after IBB annulled the 1993 presidential election which MKO Abiola won.
He indirectly sought the support of Southern Nigeria that wants to produce the next President of Nigeria at all cost. However, the former VP after the NEC meeting of the PDP have met with Northern PDP Governors and stakeholders.
That will form the basis of our discussion in this article.
Why did Atiku meet Northern PDP Governors after saying Nigerians don't care about the region of the next President?
Some Northern PDP politicians are much interested in contesting the 2023 presidential election under the umbrella party.

That meeting was remarkable because it came at the time the Northern PDP power brokers are contemplating on how to produce the PDP National Chairman while some of them nursing presidential ambition are strategizing on how to convince the Southern PDP politicians to support the North to produce the 2023 PDP flag bearer.
My understanding is that Atiku wants to join forces with Northern PDP Governors to ensure that the next PDP Chairman who will come from the North will support the emergence of a Northerner as the presidential candidate.
Also, such a person should be ready to step down for a Southerner to take over should a Northerner manage to grab the 2023 presidential ticket of the PDP.
The Northern PDP politicians will likely work to ensure that the presidential contest is thrown open. A development that will favour Atiku's ambition.

He is popular in the South and has the financial war chest to reach out to all delegates that will participate in the 2022 PDP presidential primary election.
