The Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour has revealed his plan for Lagos State people if he gets elected as the governor of the state. Gbadebo speaking in an interview with Arise Tv news stated the IGR of the state does not reflect the development being seen in Lagos.
He alleged that the people of the state have no idea of the money in which the state is making and that this is the first thing he's going to do if he gets elected. He stated that he intends to open the state account for transparency in terms of costing of projects.
He said, ''Well, the first thing we are going to do is to open up the accounts of Lagos state. We are going to ensure that it's in line with the items, transparent in terms of our costing, we use infographics to actually make it more understandable because the idea is to build trust again with the people of Lagos.
I believe the relationship between the governor and the people that he governs must be sacrosanct, especially in the state that celebrates this high IGR. Now in laying this foundation, we then set a value that is time values to the World Bank benchmark and best practices. So you now know that the kilometer of road should cost this, when you say contract figure that comes in you compare it to that. So you can see that we are stretching our resources.''
