The Chairman of the All Progressive Congress at Mashi Local Government Area in Katsina State, Mr Armaya'u Doka, has asked Mansur Mashi, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Mashi/Dutsi Federal Constituency to resign for allegedly insulting President Mohammadu Buhari.
Mr Doka who in a press conference, promised that members of his constituency will recall Mr Mansur if he fails to resign and also, he called on the National Assembly to suspend him from carrying out his constitutional duties in the house of reps.
Doka said the reason he is calling for Mansur's resignation, is because of the comments he made recently about President Buhari and the APC which he sees as an insult to the President and APC at all level.
In Doka words, "The honorable said Buhari had to leave the scene the way the late ex-president Yar'Adua did, so that his vice, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo to take over, and that such is the only way Nigeria could make progress before 2023.
"He also said that our great party, the APC is not different from football teams like Barcelona and Madrid. Once the match is over everybody goes his way and that APC may not win the next general elections."
"The audio of what the lawmaker said is out there for all to listen to. By the grace of God, the APC will win in the 2023 general elections and the party will continue to grow stronger in fellowship."
He went further to say, "We call on the APC at the state and national level to call him to order and the National Assembly to suspend him for making such comments. If our call is not listened to, we the members of his constituency will take necessary actions that is within the law."
My fellow Nigerians, do you think this is enough reason to ask for the resignation of Mr Mansur Mashi or do you think that their is something else behind the call for his resignation?
