The members of the opposition party have been preparing and making attempts to defeat the ruling party in the upcoming presidential election, but things will not be that easy for the members of the party like that because the party will compete with the ruling party which is also a strong party in the year twenty twenty-three presidential election. There are two northern politicians that can face the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the year 2023 general election.

The first person that can face the ruling party is Atiku Abubakar. Atiku Abubakar has gathered many experiences in the past that will make him the appropriate politician to face Tinubu in the year 2023 presidential election. At the beginning of the fourth republic, Atiku Abubakar ruled alongside former President Olusegun Obasanjo as his partner for eight years. He must have known how to play national election better than anyone else in the opposition party.

Atiku Abubakar ran alongside Peter Obi against President Muhammadu Buhari and lost the election due to some unavoidable circumstances that occurred to the party. Both Buhari and Atiku Abubakar are from the same region, and they both shared all the votes in northern part of the country. Now that the ruling party may pick its flag bearer from the south, Atiku Abubakar will have a higher chance of clearing off all the votes in northern Nigeria.

2. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso

The former governor of Kano State is another qualified politician to challenge the power of the ruling party in the year 2023 presidential election. Kano State is one of the determining states in the northern part of the country and the ruling party has been controlling it already due to the fact that the governor of the state is a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC). For the strength of the ruling party to be weakened in Kano State, the opposition party can make Musa Kwankwanso the flag bearer of the party.

It will be difficult for the people of Kano State and northerners at large to vote against the son of the soil. Kwankwanso has also established a political movement group called Kwankwassiya which will be suitable for the campaign rallies of the party in the northern part of the country. Atiku Abubakar and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso are the two northern politicians that can challenge the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the upcoming presidential election in the year 2023.
