#ENDSARS: 'We Won't Hide Anything, Lagos Will Release Panel Report' - Sanwo-Olu Assures Nigerians

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has assured Nigerians that his administration will not attempt to hide the findings of the Judicial Panel of Enquiry and Restitution, but will make the contents of the report available to the public.

The governor gave this assurance while addressing newsmen in Lagos on Thursday, October 21, 2021. He noted that the report would contribute immensely to his administration's efforts to strengthen true reconciliation and prevent the re-occurrence of such civil-unrests in the future.

The panel was formed at the behest of President Muhammadu Buhari to look into cases of alleged police brutality and human rights abuse shortly after the EndSARS protests last year.

The judicial panel, which was chaired by Justice Doris Okuwobi, concluded its sittings on Monday, 48 hours to the #EndSARSMemorial protests on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.

While disclosing that the panel is yet to submit its report, governor Sanwo-Olu said his administration will not hide its contents.

He said;

"We do not know the content of the report, but we want to say publicly that, upon the handover of the report, we will be making it public.

We will not cover up anything. This is not who we are and that is not what our government stands for. We will make full disclosure of recommendations."
