Oduduwa Republic: We will not be led to assured annihilation by anyone - Gov. Akeredolu Warns Igboho

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State disclosed the position of his state on the ongoing secession agenda in the south west. He said they will not be led to assured annihilation by anyone or any group.

Akeredolu warned all the front-line agitators of Oduduwa Republic to count Ondo state out of their plans, because they've chosen to be in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Governor Akeredolu disclosed this at the swearing-in ceremony of Princess Oladunni Odu who was newly appointed as the Secretary to the State Government, also the first female to be appointed for that position. Four Special Advisers were also sworn in at the Cocoa Conference Hall of Governor's Office.

The agitation started gaining momentum when the Yoruba Activist, popularly known as Sunday Igboho declared that Yoruba land is no longer part of Nigeria and therefore should break away.

The Governor noted that no geographical location in Ondo state will be used for any gathering or agitation.

He said, “We will not be led to assured annihilation by anyone or a group of people, beacuse we are still smarting from the electoral defeats of recent times and presumed exclusion from the process of decision-making."

He added that the citizens of his state are knowledgeable enough to make decision for themselves which may need no dependence on external promptings to act.
