Cameroon Applauds Nigeria Over Nnamdi Kanu’s Arrest

Nnamdi Kanu, the self acclaimed leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Nnamdi Kanu was arrested in a foreign country and returned back to Nigeria. According to reports, Nnamdi Kanu was arrested and tortured in Kenya before he was returned to Nigeria. He is currently facing charges of treasonable felony.

Meanwhile, the Cameroonian government has applauded Nigeria for a job well done over the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB.

A special Envoy Mr Felix Mbayu, from President Paul Biya, had applauded Nigeria. This happened when President Muhammadu Buhari received him in Abuja on Tuesday.

According to the envoy, He said President Paul is also looking forward to a time when Nigeria would not harbour the movement of Ambazonians who also wants autonomy in Cameroon. As some citizens are taking advantage of the prevalent crisis in the two English Speaking factions of the NorthEast and SouthWest regions to secede Cameroon.

Ambazonia is the collective name for the two anglophone (English Speaking) parts in Cameroon. Just like the proscribed IPOB, the Amazonians are also looking for ways to break off from Cameroon to become a sovereign State.

Mr Felix Mbayu, said President Paul Biya is very happy with Nigeria for the role she's playing in Africa.

 He said the two countries shared not Just historical ties or borders, but also same challenges of secession. According to him, the common challenges is on insecurities, and it is pertinent that they find a permanent solution.

President Buhari, in reply, said Nigeria would provide maximum support to ensure that Cameroon remain as one. Buhari said he's aware of the division movements in their country, however, Nigeria would contribute it's quota in ensuring a stable indivisible Cameroon.
