According to a news that was published by the Punch Newspaper online this morning, it was reported that a member of the Senate in 8th National Assembly and a spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party's Presidential Campaign Council, Dino Melaye, during an interview with Punch correspondent, has reacted as he was asked the reason he do frequently criticize the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was declared the winner of the 2023 presidential election.
During the interview, Dino was asked why he was always against the newly elected president and while he was reacting, he said that he does not criticize Tinubu but, he do criticize injustice.
He said, "I am not a critic of Tinubu but, I am a critic of injustice and I am also a critic of anything that is not righteous because, I have children who are growing up in this country and I have young teenagers and I want to bequeath to them a country they will be very proud of. I do not want my kids who are schooling in America to be laughed at by their friends, I will not want that for my children or my country. So, I have nothing personal against Tinubu."
Further talking, he said he never had any political, economic, financial or electoral relationship with Tinubu and the latter has never snatched any of his girlfriends so, there is nothing that should pitch Tinubu against him (Dino).
He said, "In an unjust society, silence is a crime. I want the best for this country and I do not think a drug baron is the best for this country. So, nothing personal. It’s in the interest of this country."
