It was earlier reported that a nursing mother,Barrister Mrs Vivian Ottih who works with the IMO State Broadcasting Corporation was served a query by the state government for publicly begging and demanding for her three months unpaid salary. She made this plead through Facebook,in her post she insinuated that her salary and that of her colleagues of not being paid since February making things tough for her as she is a nursing mother.
This didn't go down well with the IMO State Government as they wrote in the letter of query issued to her that it caused serious embarrassment to the Imo State Government, thereby ridiculing the government in the eyes of the public with the sole aim of sabotaging the government.
It was this move that prompt a kind hearted Facebook user,Mr Zephrinus Dozie in helping the journalist with the sum of #100,000 to enable her feed and take care of her baby. The power of social media.
This is what he wrote:
I am going to give Barr. Vivian Ottih N100, 000 ( One hundred thousand naira) to enable her buy diapers and baby food for her new born baby. This nursing mother works with IBC. She complained publicly about her three months unpaid salaries, Instead of the Imo State government of shared hunger prosperity surprising her with an alert, they cowardly issued her with this query and are threatening to sack her. If you are moved by this nursing mother's plight please join me, let's make sure that she doesn't starve with her new born baby. Please tell Barr. Vivian to inbox me with immediate effect.
