Celestial Church Prophet, Ogundipe Asks Court To Grant Him Bail

The Lagos State High Court in Ikeja,Lagos state capital have rejected the post-conviction bail application filed by Prophet Israel Ogundipe.

Prophet Israel oladele Ogundipe who was jailed some weeks ago for stealing and unlawful conversion of the property of a London-based architect, Mrs Williams-Oni is the founder of the Celestial Church of Christ, Genesis Global.

He was charged and sentenced to one year imprisonment for unlawful conversion of property and forgery, fraudulently collected N14m and £12,000 in various tranches from the complainant between August 30, 2002 and 2005.

After the judgement,Prophet Israel Ogundipe's lawyer,Olanrewaju Ajanaku, filed a motion on notice for bail pending appeal.

Ogundipe, in a 16-paragraph affidavit sworn to by his counsel said he is diabetic and could not follow strict diet and constant specialised medical attention in the custodial centre.

Giving his judgement on the case filed yesterday, Justice Akinlade held that the convict did not prove any special circumstances that could persuade the court to grant his application so thereby rejecting the bail application.

What do you have to say about this.Do you think Prophet Israel oladele Ogundipe should serve his one year imprisonment and leave everything to God as a Man of God?
