Eid-al-Fitr: Igbo Leader Prays With Muslim Faithfuls In Onitsha, Preaches Love.

The Spiritual Leader of the Igbo Nation, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka (OGILISI IGBO) has urged Muslim faithfuls to submit themselves totally to the creator, and also pray for the development and progress of Nigeria, as Muslims all over the world celebrates for the Eid Al Fitr following the completion of their one month fasting.

Chief Ezeonwuka who spoke today, shortly after he joined Muslim Faithfuls to observe Eid Prayers at Army Barracks Onitsha, noted that with love and fervent prayers, we will be be able to overcome the many challenges plaguing us as a Nation, especially where it concerns security.

I urge Nigerians, regardless of our tribal and religious differences, to understand that there is only One Almighty God. Wether as a Christian, Muslim, Buddhist or any other religion, we are first of all human, and that is why we must show love and compassion, because we all are one.

There is this notion that Islam supports killings and terrorism and it is only right that these mindsets are corrected..those who kill because of religion are not doing God’s work. As simple as that. In fact, they are enemies of God. The supreme law which was given to Moses is very clear when it read that “thou shall not kill”.

“I want to make it clear that those who use religion as a tool of fighting and killing people are not only spiritually blind, but also very much ignorant of the religion which they claim to be fighting for.

He finally wished all Muslim Faithful a happy Sallah Holidays and urged everyone to remain peaceful, prayerful and vigilante, even as the problems of kidnappings and banditry continues to draw the nation aback.

Ezeonwuka also urged the youths to stay away from cultism, violent crimes, drug abuse and other vices capable of ruining the future. “The youths are our future hope, and we must make efforts to sensitize them on the need to preserve themselves for the important task ahead” He concluded.
