Igbos Should Produce Buhari's Successor - Bishop.

The Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Most Rev. Alfred Adewale-Martins says the South-East should produce President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor in 2023.

The cleric spoke at the weekend during the 2021 Catholic Women Organisation of Nigeria (CWON) meeting in Lagos.

Adewale-Martins said an Igbo becoming the country’s leader would amount to equity and justice.

APC Suspends Oyo Party Election.

The ongoing state congress in Oyo State has been suspended by the national leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement released on Saturday and signed by the party’s National Secretary, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, noted that the suspension became necessary to ensure credibility of the process leading to the emergence of new leaders in Oyo State.

According to the statement, the APC under Governor Buni will not tolerate any act of indiscipline and fraudulent manipulation of process of any kind.

Gunshots As Amosun Loyalists Gather For APC Congress In Ogun.

There were heavy gunshots on Saturday as loyalists of former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun gathered at the Ake Palace Pavilion for the State congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The shooting took place immediately Senator Tolu Odebiyi and Hon. Adekunle Akinlade arrived the Ake palace ground.

Party faithful in their hundreds scampered for safety, even as police struggled to restore normalcy.
