Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church, has revealed what Christians do that can make the offerings they give bring curses on their lives. He gave this revelation during his sermon at the midweek communion service. There, he preached on the fundamentals of kingdom wealth.
He explained that giving without joy will bring curses rather than blessings on the life of the giver. He started by explaining that giving is one way to serve God, and according to Deuteronomy 28, if an individual does not serve God with joyfulness and gladness of heart, he will serve his enemies in nakedness and in need of all things.
He also read from Malachi 3:14, where the children of Israel murmured and complained as they were giving their sacrifices to God, and how God responded to them.
"They were murmuring at God. They told God you haven't seen anything o. More is coming," he said.
He explained that the right attitude a believer should have towards giving is seeing their giving as a privilege to God.
"Learn to sow as a privilege. You don't sow as a privilege, the blessing is gone. You don't sow as a privilege, you're wasting your money. Anytime you feel giving is a burden, it is better you don't give," he said.
