The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) is a global ministry, and its presence is felt in almost every country in the world. According to statistics from RCCG's archives, the ministry has risen to become the fastest-growing church in Nigeria. Not only that, the ministry is blessed with over 20,000 parishes in Nigeria and has a global coverage of over 160 countries around the world. It is a well-known fact that no one can ever make this kind of progress in the flesh, or by strategies, it only has to be God's own marvelous doing. Howbeit, the presence of loyal men also fast-track God-given growth in any congregation. That is exactly the point that this article seems to ride upon.
Every loyal member of RCCG (extended also to those who are not members) knows a man called 'Kunle Ajayi'. Although, he is a pastor, his area of governance and authority in the church is established in the music arm of the ministry - RCCG. Ajayi is known for his critical role in making the atmosphere conducive for the man of God - Pastor E.A. Adeboye - through the melodious sound that flows from his skillful play of the saxophone. The formation for most (if not all) of Adeboye's ministration(s) at the Redemption Camp follows thus: Kunle Ajayi ministers with his saxophone, then Pastor E.A. Adeboye preaches afterward.
Close sources have often revealed that Kunle Ajayi is one of the most humble people there is, and there is no doubt about that at all. This is because of the enormous amount of honor he shows towards Adeboye. Pastor Mrs. Folu Adeboye - fondly called 'Mummy G.O - even spoke so highly of Ajayi, pointing out that - although he had lived with them almost all his life - he never lost his sense of honor towards Pastor E.A. Adeboye and herself. As a son to a father, Ajayi has been with Adeboye since the ministry began and he has only grown in grace as he followed the servant of God.
Today, June 16, Ajayi turns 56, and I believe he has so much to be grateful for. First, is the grace to have lived this long and remain impactful and relevant. Second, is the grace given to him to be associated with the great man of God - E.A. Adeboye. Today, Ajayi has become a true model of honor because he never took the privilege of access for granted, even though he could have easily done that. For that reason, God has kept to his word that says "he resists the proud but gives grace to the humble".
Happy birthday Pastor Kunle Ajayi
