The greatest and most powerful name in heaven and on earth is the name of Jesus. All that God has--His Power, authority, character, integrity, honour, majesty, might, authority is behind that name.
The name can never fail when applied appropriately with reverence and in proper spiritual decorum.
Below are six benefits and blessings one can find in the name of Jesus Christ:
(1) lt is only through the name of Jesus Christ we have salvation from sin, justification, and redemption.
Apostle Peter, while speaking on the power in the name of Jesus, has this to say:
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved"
(Check Acts 4:11).
Paul has this to say about the name of Jesus:
"Be it known unto you, therefore, men and brethren, that through this Man(Jesus) is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him, all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses"
(Check Acts 13:38-39)
"And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of God"
(Check 1st Corinthians 6:11).
"In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins"
To be justified simply means to be declared not guilty before God and redemption means to buy back into freedom someone who has been in servitude, captivity, and bondage to sin.
(2) There is protection and preservation for those who call on that name amid danger and evil:
Proverbs 18:10 says thus:
"The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe"
Psalm 91:14 say:
" Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will l deliver him:l will set him on high because he hath known my name"
(3) God gives us peace that passes all understanding through the name of Jesus Christ.
Jesus speaks of that peace in these words:
"Peace l leave with you, my peace l give unto you: not as the world giveth, give l unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid"
"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus"
(Check Philippians 4:7)
(4)The devils are subject to the disciples of Christ through the name of Jesus Christ.
"And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject to us through thy name"
(Check Luke 10:17)
The believers have been empowered and authorized by Christ to cast out devils wherever they find them.
"And these signs shall follow them that believe; ln my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues"
(Check Mark 16:17)
"And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils:freely ye have received, freely give"
(Check Matthew 10:7-8)
(5)The name of Jesus and through faith in that name will give perfect healing and wellness to the sick.
When Peter was asked by what Power and name he had healed a man that was born lame, he replied thus:
"Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole"
"And his name, through faith in his name, hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know:yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all"
(Check Acts 4:10; Acts 3:15)
(6)Whatever we ask the Father in prayer using that name guarantees the granting of our request.
Speaking on the importance of praying in His name, Jesus has this to say:
"And in that day ye shall ask me nothing.Verily, verily, l say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name:ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full"
(Check John 16:23-24).
(7)The only place you can find eternal life is in the name of Jesus:
Ist John 5:11-13 says thus:
"And this is the record, that God hath given us eternal life, and this life us in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life, and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
These things have l written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."
But before the name of Jesus can work for you, you must belong to Him. You must have received him as savior and Lord.
If you want to receive him, just turn away from sin, confess them to God and ask for forgiveness in the name of Jesus, and God will forgive you. Once you have done that, ask him to be your Lord.
