Why Every Believer Should Engage In Repentance In Their Daily Christian Walk

The Church today has lost grasp of the power of Jehovah that worked with ancient men and women because of the lack of repentance. The Bible gives accounts of the great signs and wonders that men of old functioned in, experiences that are rare to find in our present day. It is so because they understood the efficacy of repentance.

They understood that repentance is what purifies them from the impact of their existence in a sinful world, so they developed the majority of the doctrines they practiced from repentance.

Habakkuk 1:13 (KJV) says, "Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?" Signifying that God cannot behold or dwell in sin due to his holiness.

Malachi 3:6 (KJV) also says, "For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed." This means that if God did not behold evil and look on iniquity before, he still does not because He has not changed.

To establish reconnection with God, Christ died to provide his blood for cleansing. That blood is made available forever and is to be used by an individual as the blood does not activate itself.

However, some believe that once one uses the blood at salvation, it takes care of every uncleanness in man, including future uncleanness. No.

Remember the Bible says in 1 John 1:9 (KJV): “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” In this scripture, Apostle John was not writing to unbelievers but fellow believers. If only unbelievers needed repentance, then why write this to them.

For us as the Church to see the glory of God in our time, it is expedient that we use the blood of Jesus Christ. The blood has been provided for us for repentance to sanctify ourselves unto God. The hosting of the Glory of God can only come by repentance.
