Women Should Remain Silent In Churches; They're Not Allowed To Speak - 1Cor.14vs34

Have you ever come across that bible passage that forbids women from speaking in churches? If no, then you just got enlightened.

In the era we are, a lot of things have changed. Many unthinkable thinks have begun to happen. Many Christians have obviously strayed from practising God's word. They even flout God's word with temerity and aplomb.

In the book of 1Corinthians 14 vs 34, the Bible states, "Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says." In verse 35 of the same chapter, the Bible states that "If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church." - (NIV)

Going by the above passages, isn't it clear that women aren't supposed to speak in the church? Mind you, this is not an Old Testament commandment or some Law of Moses. It is a commandment in the New Testament given by Apostle Paul himself. But in many churches today, the reverse is the case. As a matter of fact, this portion of the Bible is most times not mentioned in churches, especially in churches where women have the freedom to speak, and even go up the altar to give sermons.

When confronted with this Bible passage, many people would say that women were called by God. They would say that women preached the gospel too. That's absolutely true! But all that was recorded in the Old Testament part of the Bible.

If you diligently go through the Holy Bible, you would realize that female preachers only featured in the Old Testament. There was nothing like that in the New Testament. Then how come we have women preaching in many churches today?
