Quiz time: Which of the pillars of Islam is compulsory only to those who have the means to do it?

Quiz time! Which of the pillars of worship of Islam is compulsory only to those who have the means to perform it?

The answer to the question is Hajj.

Allah has made hajj compulsory only for those who are financially & physically able to perform hajj

Allah says in Qur'an:

“And Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) to the House is a duty that mankind owes to Allah, those who can afford the expenses. (Qur'an:3:97).

Being physically able is when one is sound in body and can bear the hardship of travelling to the sacred House of Allah

Being financially able means that one has enough funds to get to the sacred House of Allah and back again.

Hajj is a spiritual journey like no other.

Hajj is one of five pillars of Islam.

Hajj is actually the Sunnah of Ibrahim A.S

Every able Muslim who has the finances available (after taking care of all family obligations), is required to embark on this journey once in their life.

Hajj takes place in Dhul-Hijjah which is 12th month of Islamoc Calender.

The Hajj Pilgrimage takes place from the 8th to the 12th of Dhul Hijjah.

The Hajj days are five and most important day of Hajj is Arafah.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "Hajj is Arafah" (Abu Dawood).

Amr ibn al-‘Aas R.A, said: "The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ, said: 'Hajj wipes out whatever (sins) came before it.'” (Reported by Muslim, 121).
