Following the Sit-at-home Order by Anambra State Government, the Catholic bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor and his Ekwulobia counterpart, His Lordship Most Rev. Peter Okpaleke today at St. Patrick's Catholic Cathedral, Awka distributed over one thousand 50kg bags of rice to the parishioners of the two Dioceses.
The Episcopal Vicars of all the Regions in the two Dioceses were present at St Patrick's Catholic Cathedral, Awka to collect the bags of rice donated to their people and faithfuls in their regions.
Abuchi Onwumelu of Fides Media Limited (Publishers of Fides Newspaper) who covered the event reports that the two bishops were physically present to ensure evenly distribution of the food item.
This is the first phase of the efforts of the Dioceses and their Bishops in helping the people curtail the current hardship created by the lockdown due to Coronavirus.
This is good and commendable.Very effective way of distributing palliatives. Direct to the people it's intended or those directly within your sphere of influence.
God bless His church.
