Catholic Bishop Of Enugu Diosese, Most Rev. Callistus Onaga has Yesterday hosted Journalists and Media Practitioners in Holy Ghost Catholic Catherdral, Enugu to mark 2021 World Communication Day. The event was celebrated in style as the Bishop tasked the journalists on investigative and truth based reportage at all time.
The year's special day celebration collided with the Pentecost Sunday which happened to be another important day for the Catholic Church according to their doctrine and tradition. The Bishop had during the Holy mass homily refered to the Pope Francis' description as he said, it is encountering people Where and as they are. He further stressed that the Pope's message is based on the need to seek and report the facts as they are as journalists.
The lecture on what communication is all about was later held at the cathedral's reception hall with Rev. Fr. Dr. Innocent Ebere Uwa of Aharia and a lecturer with the Department of Theater and Film studies, University of Portharcort taken the centre stage. The Bishop blessed the day and prayed that God in heaven will always lead the Media Practitioners on the right path to report truth based informations.
