This was announced by the Sultan of Sokoto, Mohammad Sa'ad Abubakar on Monday , he called on the muslim faithfuls to use the period of this year's Ramadan to pray for the peace of Nigeria.
His announcement followed the announcement of sighting the moon by the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs on Monday night.
" Tuesday, 13th of April,2021 is the equivalent to 1st Ramadan 1442AH in which all muslims are expected to commence the Ramadan fast." said Sultan.
The Sultan also urged the Ummah to pray for leaders in the country for wisdom to handle all the challenges facing the country.
He said further that Muslims strictly adhere to the teachings and practices of Islam during and after the Ramadan fast , and that they should also live in peace and harmony with their neighbors.
