The Redeemed Christian Church of God is one of the foremost churches in Nigeria and Africa. The church under the dynamic leadership of Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has grown over the decades with daughter churches around the world. It has the grace of birthing powerful men of God amongst the Pentecostals. Several pastors who left the church have established their ministries and seem to be doing well in life and ministry.
Read on carefully below:
1- Tunde Bakare.
Tunde Bakare is the founder and leading Pastor of the Latter Rain Assembly (now Citadel Global Church). He was born into an Islamic Polygamous family. He was born in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. He attended the prestigious University of Lagos where he studied law. He was fortunate enough to work with late Chief Gani Fawehinmi and Chief Williams before establishing his law firm named El-Shaddai chambers. From my research, I found out that the vocal pastor once attended Deeper Life Bible Church. And he was a legal adviser already before joining the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). He later became a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God. Tunde Bakare left RCCG in 1994 and founded the Latter Rain Assembly popularly known as Citadel Global Church. Recall that Pastor Tunde Bakare was once Buhari's running mate. The Lagos-based pastor has a lot of followers.
2- Ituah Ighodalo.
In 1995, Ituah Ighodalo was ordained as Assistant Pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God. He later became a full pastor in the year 2000. Pastor Ituah was very active and was seriously involved in the development and growth of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. Ighodalo divorced his first wife and remarried and was asked to leave the church for this 'singular act'. Sadly, his second wife, Ibidun died last year. Ituah Ighodalo is the lead pastor of Trinity House.
3- Tony Rapu.
Pastor Tony Rapu is many things rolled into one. This outstanding man is the leader and senior pastor of The House of Freedom. He took over Bakare's parish after Bakare left the church. He did his best to develop the 'Model Parish'. It's interesting to know that Tony Rapu was the person who started the trend of giving the Redeemed Christian Church of God Parishes names. And today, there is no parish in RCCG that does not have a name. Lastly, it might interest you to know that Tony Rapu is a pastor, teacher, filmmaker, medical doctor, social reformer, and life coach.
4- Matthew Morakinyo.
Matthew Morakinyo studied at the University of Calabar and Ladoke Akintola University where he obtained his Bachelor's and Masters's degrees respectively. He pastored several parishes of the Redeemed Christian Church of God for two decades including stronghold parishes of the church. Pastor Matthew left the Redeemed Christian Church of God about four years ago. He is now the founder and leading pastor of God's City International Church at Abuja. And his ministry is growing rapidly.
5- Peter Balogun.
Pastor Peter Balogun is the last on the list in this article. He was ordained as a pastor after completing his National Youth Service Corps' in 1988. The branch he was pastoring grew so rapidly and later became a zonal headquarters. He pastored different powerful parishes of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. Pastor Peter left the church in 2014 and established his ministry. The name of his new ministry is 'Citizens Church of All Nations'.
Are there others that are not on this list, kindly let's know in the comment section? The good thing is they are advancing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore, let us allow peace to reign supremely.
