Popular Nigerian Pastor, Enoch Adejare Adeboye, was recently criticized on social media due to the alleged statement that God will help Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu fix the country. Peter Gregory Obi, who is the flag bearer of the Labour Party for the 2023 presidential election, has condemned this act and labeled it as unacceptable on his official Twitter handle.
The statement he released read, "The use of subterfuge by people masquerading as Obidients to abuse and insult eminent personalities like Most Reverend Pastor Adeboye or anyone else is most unacceptable. Obedients are, by and large, law-abiding citizens.
He continued, saying, "While differences of opinion are normal, calculated efforts to create ethnic or religious chasms all in the name of politics should not in any way be tolerated. As a person, I eschew name-calling, insults, and abuses, as do most of my supporters".
