A pastor from Offinso in the Ashanti Region of Ghana has reportedly drowned in the Offinso river. The pastor was identified as the founder of Prayer Life Church at Offinso, Prophet Atta. According to Modern Ghana news, Prophet Atta and two junior pastors went to the river to perform rituals. When the pastors arrived at the river, Prophet Atta took some oil and walked into the middle of the river. He asked the two junior pastors to wait for him.

According to the two junior pastors, Prophet Atta went into the middle of the river and started chanting some incantations. After the incantations, Prophet Atta went into the river as if he was swimming. He surfaced the first time but after surfacing the second time, he drowned and nobody saw him again. The junior pastors waited for Prophet Atta to resurface but he never did.
After waiting for some minutes, the two junior pastors decided to report the matter to the police. After the matter was reported to the police and elders of the community, elders of the town performed rituals to appease the river god. After some time, the body of the deceased surfaced, and it was recovered by members of the community. The body was deposited at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for autopsy.
Police are currently investigating the incident. The two senior pastors were arrested so that they can assist the police with the investigation. Residents of the community disclosed that the late pastor often visits the river during late hours. Nobody knows why he was performing the rituals regularly.
