God is a God of love and mercy, but despite the fact that HIS infinite mercy is abundant, we also have some duties to carryout in order to activate the power of HIS love in our life.
As a Christian you have great work to do to activate the power of God's love in your life. You should wonder why God called Abraham HIS friend? Why God love Jacob more than Esau? Why God favoured Noah, Enoch and many others in the Bible? These are people who really understood the fact that despite God's love is abundant, one still has to work hard to activate its power.
How can you activate the power of God's love in your life?
1. Through covenant of righteousness. God is a God of covenant. HE appreciates people who will walk with HIM in righteousness. When you have a covenant of righteousness with God, the power of HIS love would be activated in your life and HE will favour you greatly. Consider the case of Joseph in Egypt who resisted the temptation from his master's wife, and at the end God favoured him greatly. The case of Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who did not defile themselves with the King's food or conformed to the lifestyle of the gentiles is also an evidence that God honours the covenant of righteousness. At the end the power of God's love was manifested in their lives on several occasions.
2. Through sacrifice of love and mercy. God loves people who have the heart of giving, showing mercy and purveying love. The power of God's love was manifested in Abraham's life when he showed love to strangers whom he did not know initially were the angels of God. There are so many ways you can make sacrifices of mercy and love. Do not just relax and expect God's power of love to be activated in your life whereas you do not show love to people around you. The Bible made it clear that whatever you sow is what you will reap. Therefore, I urge you to sow the seed of love everyday so that the power of God's love will be activated in your life.
May God bless you, Amen!
