Daddy Freeze Reveals The Most Abused Word In Nigeria

The convener of Free Nation and broadcaster, Ifedayo Olarinde popularly known as Daddy Freeze has revealed the most abuse words in Nigeria. He made the revelation on his verified Facebook page on Friday 5th of November 2021.

Daddy Freeze who is known to criticize pastors and their doctrines reveals that the most abused words among Nigerians is God. How true is this?

To abuse something means to use that thing to bad effect or for a bad purpose. It also means to mmisuse something. Therefore, by abusing the name of God, Freeze means that Nigerian religious people take the name of God in vain. To take the name of God in vain according to the Bible also means to misue the name of God. That is, using the name of God for wrong reasons.

Exodus 20:7 says, “You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name. "

How do Nigerian abuse the name of God?

Statics have shown that Nigerians are among the most religious people on earth. Former Zimbabwean president, Robert Mukabe was once quoted to have jokingly alleged that Nigeria has more prophets than the prophets in the Bible. Nigerians put God in everything that they do.

If you ask a Nigerians about the secret of their success, they will say, it's God. Also ask an average Nigerian how he is doing, he will most likely say he thanks God.

In this regard, Daddy Freeze says, "All day; everyday! Politicians steal country house say na God. Person cut corners build house say na grace of God, 30 something people die.

" Olosho buy house and brand new cat say na God.Yahoo boy buy Benz; "God is merciful".

God cannot be mocked!"

This is an abuse of the name of God. If Nigerians have fear and regards for the name of God, Nigeria would have been a righteous nation that is free of corruption. But just as the Bible says in Matthew 15:8, “’These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me", Nigerians honour God with their lips but their hearts are far away from him.

In Nigeria's National Pledge and Anthem, the name of God is mentioned. This makes Nigerians to call on the name of God whenever they sing the national anthem and recite the pledge.

Nigerians do not start or end any event without calling on God in prayers. When public officials like the president, vice-president, Senators, governors, etc, are being sworn into office, they hold Bible or the Qu'ran swearing in the name of God to be faithful, loyal and incorruptible. So, there's God in everything Nigerians do. But this does not translate to godliness.

Nigerians put God in everything they do except in their lives. According to 2021 Transparency International Corruption indixes, Nigeria is rated as the second most corrupt country in West Africa and among the most corrupt countries in the world. The question is : where is the place of God in the lives of Nigerians?
