Islam emphasizes on foreplay before intercourse. Imam ‘Ali (A.S.) says, “When you intend to have sex with your wife, do not rush because the woman (also) has needs (which should be fulfilled).” Intercourse without foreplay has been equated as cruelty.
Allah (S.A.W) has warned Muslims against 2 major habits during intercourse. These are:
1. Anal Intercourse
Allah (S.A.W) prohibited anal intercourse and warned Muslims against it. The prophet (S.A.W). Khuzaymah Ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) also reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Allah is not too shy to tell you the truth: Do not have sex with your wives in the anus.”
Muslims should therefore desist from it to avoid offending almighty Allah.
2. Intercourse during periods
Muslim couples are also banned from intercourse when the female is on her periods.
Muslims are not supposed to have sex during a woman’s period or during her afterbirth, largely because it’s considered to be unpleasant for the woman. The prophet also warned us against doing so.
Other habits that are not permissible in Islam includes
* Parents should avoid displaying physical acts of affection, such as intimate hugging and kissing, in front of their children in order to instil the principles on Haya (modesty, shame) in them. Rather, they should focus on their character and behaviour with each other, as well as with the children.
* Couples should not watch porn during intercourse.
