His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief (Dr.) Edward Onoja, on Thursday evening received in audience, members of the Kogi State Chapter of Jama'atu Nasril Islam (JNI) led by State Chairman, HE Amb. Usman Bello.
The umbrella group for the Nigerian Muslim Community in Kogi State said the purpose of the courtesy visit was to thank Governor Bello and his Deputy, Chief Onoja, for their unalloyed support and encouragement to the Chapter over the years.
It highlighted the completion of the Okpo Central Mosque and Government House Chapel as a reflection of the duo's bias for tolerance, equity, and fairness, which according to the Chapter, has edged the State on the paths of prosperity.
The Chapter thanked Governor Bello for what it termed his "on-the-spot fulfillment of promises" praying for furtherance of wisdom, insights, and direction for Leadership.
A statement by Promise Emmanuel , Chief Press Secretary to the deputy governor says, Chief Onoja praised the Muslim Ummah for its consistency of purpose and also partaking in the activities of the Christian Community, which he said, "expressly narrates the texts of the Scriptures for the two Faiths."
He said "It is also good to tell our stories for not going from bad to worse, but from good to better as it relates to the insecurity challenges affecting the country.
"We credit this fresh air of prosperity being witnessed in Kogi State to prayers by the various religious groups, as we continue to call for increased prayers for the country in these perilous times," he noted
Chief Onoja whilst ticking boxes of demands made by the Chapter, said given the current challenges in the country, it is only logical that Governor Bello who has shown capacity in Kogi state be handed the baton to replicate his mouthwatering achievements on the national scale.
