Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG), has mentioned Governor Yahaya Bello as a man of faith, and his handling of the Corona Virus pandemic as an example of stoic faith. He defined it as a rare demonstration by a political leader.
Pastor Adeboye praised the Governor for his balanced approach to governance, especially as it relates to religious diversity, and praised the Governor for his tolerance and inclusiveness, to the extent that the Governor constructed the first-ever Chapel in the Kogi State Government House.
He told the Governor that they would continue to pray for the Governor, the state's leadership, and the citizens of the state as a whole.
In response, Governor Bello said that the clergy's visit was a blessing and that he was honored to host a father figure who acted as a role model to many across the country, including himself.
Governor Bello said that it was evil for any leader to continue to do wrong without recourse to natural justice, and that under his leadership in Kogi State, given the circumstances surrounding his election as governor and his election for a second term, the resolve is to do good by providing credible and impactful governance.
He inferred that his administration's efforts to maintain ethnic and religious diversity, prevent terrorism, and other modest accomplishments were only normal and obligatory responsibilities required of leaders entrusted with the people's mandate.
The Governor charged the respected and venerable clergy with continuing to pray for the country, the state, both leadership and followership, stating that all faiths should unite at this time to seek divine intervention for the nation rather than pounding the drum of discord and battle.
