Eid ul Adha(Big Sallah) day activities you should know and Try to perform

Big sallah/Eid-ul-Adha is in a few weeks. We're already purchasing sacrificial animals, ordering for clothes, getting home decorations and so on. However, sacrificing animal (Qurbani) and wearing isn’t all that is to be done in order to celebrate Big sallah (Eid-ul-Adha). There are a list of other formalities to be observed on this day that most people have no orientation about.. Some of these activities were extremely important to the prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he made them an obligation for himself so much that they are regarded as Sunnah;

1. Wake up early, in order to prepare for the day.

2. Pray Fajr sallat.

3. Take Ghusal(bathe) for Salat al-Eid (Eid Salah).

4. Brush Teeth with Miswak (chewing stick).

5. Dress Up very Nicely For the Eid Occasion (your best clothes).

6. Use Attar (a form of perfume).

7. Delay eating until after the Eid al-Adha prayer.

8. Go early to the place where the Eid prayer is taking place.

9. Listen to the Eid khutbah (sermon).

10. Perform Salat al-Eid.

11. Return from the Eid prayer by a different route to the one taken there.

12. Slaughter the sacrificial animal and it could be done on your behalf.

The sacrificing of Animals (ritual of Qurbani) is worthy of many blessings. Performing Sunnah practices of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is an addition that earns alot of blessings and rewards. Being an slamic faithful, it is a good idea to incorporate Sunnah practice and spirituality into our lives on a daily basis.It is considered haraam to fast on the day of Eid ul Adha.
