"Easter has nothing to do with Christ, it is a European Pagan holiday" - Reno Omokri reveals.

Every Nation in the world has a sense of religious tolerance and also freedom of speech as part of fundamental human rights. Every human being is allowed to worship in whichever religion one deems fit, as far as it doesn't affect the peace of the nation.

To this, Christians all over the world have a particular celebration called Easter. It is a celebration used to Mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ, after it was believed he died and resurrected on the 3rd day. This celebration does not have a specific day like Christmas day that is celebrated on December 25th. Easter day celebration is marked 40 days after the Lenten period, according to the Christian calendar. This Easter celebration is dominant mostly amongst Catholics and orthodox Christians.

However, popular social media critic and political analyst Reno Omokiri thinks this celebration has nothing to to with Christ. The former presidential adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan sees this celebration from a different view. See his post on his official Instagram page.

He also gave out scriptural quotation to back up his claim citing 1 Corinthians 11:23 where the Bible states that "For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lords death until he comes. According to his claims, Easter is just an European celebration where by he also cited that Europeans gift out eggs and rabbits on easter day which symbolizes fertility.

His fans and followers took to the comment section to react to this his claim that Easter is in representation of an European pagan festival.

it is good to understand his position as a Christian, he is not doubting the ressurection of Jesus Christ on the 3rd day after his crucifixion and death, rather he is criticizing the name easter and the time of it's celebration. He has just made a revelation which is not far from the truth because most dates and days of Christian festival are to make away with pagan worships. Even Christmas day celebration is also used to cover up a pagan day celebration.Summarily, As Christians, what is important is the faith in Christ Jesus and not over the dates. Hence, Christians should always be ready to face criticisms and comments about thier religion and be ready to be open to new knowledge revealed.
