Popular founder of Living Faith Church also known as Winners Chapel, David Oyedepo, has explained to his congregation in a recent sermon why he never took his wife for a honeymoon after marriage. According to his statement "on September 12th 1976 I choose to make God the reason for living and the centre of my life". He explained that for over forty-five years he has had no regret about making such a decision.
He further explained that his lecturer in school was furious because of his commitment to the work of God, he told his lecturer that he was a full-time Christian and a part-time student. This was the main reason he and his wife never had the opportunity for a honeymoon he added. "We got married on Saturday, had meetings on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, even when there were no offerings for meetings," he said.
According to Oyedepo, it was the motivation to see souls saved that led to that, and today my wife is enjoying a lifetime honeymoon he said.
