The Covenant Of Life For Life, And Some Of The Other Divine Benefits Of Being A Believer

The covenant of the Lord is very sure in the life of a believer. The Bible affirms the covenant of the Lord concerning His people in the area of favourable considerations when it comes to protection from death, and in some other life benefits. He has so much loved the believers, who are truly committed to Him in all their ways. This is affirmed in the book of Isaiah 43:4,

"Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life".

Below are some of the benefits of being a believer:

1. God favours a believer, over an unbeliever:

(The life of Noah is a very good example of a favoured one. First, he was a believer of God, so that automatically gave him an edge over the unbelievers in the world then)

The Lord has created everything in the universe. On the sixth day, He created man and gave him dominion over the entire things He has created. Now, considering the areas of equality and inequality before Him in the spiritual aspect of life, God has made the believers more equal than the non-believers. This consideration is understandable, as it is also written in the book of Mathew 15:26

"But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs".

The Lord sees those that are truthfully following Him as beloved and endeared to Him. God is not to be questioned in how He handles the affairs of the universe, be it spiritually or physically. Another area of favouritism towards His people and those that do not acknowledge His supremacy could be seen in how the Lord chased off and destroyed all the enemies of the Israelites before them. He gave their lands unto them for inheritance.

2. The portions of the wicked and ungodly shall be transferred to the believers; those that love God:

According to the Bible, while the Israelites sojourned in Egypt for over four hundred years, they laboured and toiled in bondage and slavery. But, when they were delivered, through, Moses, they had no place to return. The entire lands that they besieged and overtook belonged to some other tribes. God in His favour, loved Israel, and hence, favours them above every one of the people all around them.

3. Covenant of Life for Life:

As obtainable in Isaiah 43:4, the Bible affirms the covenant of God for His people that, He would replace their life with those of others when it comes to death. This simply means that any death that is supposed to befall a believer would be transferred to another who is not of the household of God.

4. He would not give thr strangers a chance to take over the portion of the believers:

Also, in the case of the Canaanites woman, begging Jesus Christ to deliver her daughter, in Matthew 15:26, it could be claimed that God respects the portion of the believers, and He would first of all satisfy them, before considering others.

In this wise, God would always protect and preserve the portions of the believers. No unbeliever shall be able to take over what you have laboured to achieve. Instead, the portions of the wicked shall be transferred to the believers.

5. Promise of Divine Protection, and guidance:

The path of the believer is always monitored, directed, and protected by the Lord. A believer is protected from every power and principalities of the wicked. The Lord assures them of this in Isaiah 54:17, and Psalm 91. The entire psalm 91, is a declaration of power that no even.y has been able to withstand the power of its effectiveness, in God.
