The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has defied the ban placed on Twitter by the Nigerian government.
Adeboye took to his official verified Twitter handle to say that tweeting is within the United Nations (UN) Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
In the tweet that was shared on Facebook by Yabaleftonline Adeboye noted that RCCG is domicile in over 170 countries.
He further noted that the tweets are in accordance with article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations.
Recall, the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) had placed an indefinite suspension on Twitter. Though it later said it was just a temporary suspension following backlash it got.
This had led to many Nigerians using Virtual Private Network VPN to access the microblogging site.
Though, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice of the Federation, Abubakar Malami had ordered the prosecution of those still tweeting using VPN, several people have dared him to carry out his threat.
