Read what the Bible says about praying outside

Some of us do approach prayers in the wrong way which is not right. As Christians, Christ has already laid down the best instructions needed for our prayer lives. There are some who can't pray in their closets rather, they prefer praying where people would see them and probably know that they are good in prayers.

The truth is that Jesus Christ is against such acts. Let us take for instance, you are in your house where neighbours are, and instead of you to pray in your room, you decided to pray outside, speaking in tongues. Apart from the fact that Jesus Christ is not in support of it, it is also a means of disturbing your neighbours. So you need to stop it.

In the Bible, we have the Pharisees and the Sadducees. The Sadducees are the types that love outward shows of worship. When they pray or give arms to the poor, they do them in public where people could see them and praise them. Jesus Christ condemned such a way of worship and termed it as hypocrisy.

This was why he taught his people how to pray in the book of Matthew chapter 6. Let us pick our Bible as we read from the book of Matthew 6:5-6

"And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you".

When you pray in public for people to see and praise you, the praises from the people will be your reward. You will not have any reward in heaven according to the passage we just read. Don't be like the hypocrites so that you can be rewarded by God.
