The Spokesman of the President-Elect in the south east, Dr. Josef Onoh, has reacted after the Emeritus Cardinal of the Catholic Diocese of Abuja said it is senseless to swear-in Tinubu as president. According to Onah, It's disappointing that someone like Onaiyekan has failed to separate politics from the Church
It could be recalled that The Archbishop Emeritus of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, said it does not make sense for Bola Tinubu to be sworn in as president while his victory is challenged in court.
According to him, We have a declared president-elect whose election is being challenged, and the courts are handling it. I’m one of those who have been saying it doesn’t make much sense to be swearing in people when they are still in court.”
However, while reacting to Onaiyekan's statement, Onoh Josef said "Onaiyekan is forcing God to join a political party on earth. But priests should continuously remain priests. It’s disappointing that someone such as a Cardinal like Onaiyekan has failed to separate politics from the church and so he is trying to interfere in the affairs of political parties, while hiding personal interest.
