Reopening of religious centers in Ekiti State earlier scheduled for July 17 has been cancelled.

Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State had on July 1st, 2020 asked all religious centers which were shut-down to re-open for worship and were to hold service once in a week(Fridays fro Muslim and Sundays for christian) starting from July 17.
The Ekiti State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mojisola Yaya-Kolade in a statement on Friday, said the reason for the suspension of reopening was to review the measures put in place by religious organisation to comply with stipulated conditions.
According to his statement, “The latest communique of CAN is indicative of the fact that worship centres are not yet ready to comply with conditions stipulated as guidelines and conditions set out by the government for reopening of worship centers".
“In view of the foregoing, the State Government has shifted the date for the reopening of worship centers on August 14, 2020 to give the worship centres enough time to meet the prescribed conditions for the reopening.” she added.
