Photos: Thousands Of Palestinians Observe Eid Prayer At Masjid al-Aqsa In Jerusalem

Thousands of worshippers stormed the Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem on Tuesday, the 20th of July, 2021, to observe the Eid-el-Kabir prayer.

The worshippers, who are mostly Palestinians, were seen outside the mosque performing Eid prayers despite Israeli forces' presence at the venue.

The Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem is the third holiest site in Islam after Mecca and Medina.

The location has been a source of conflict in the international community for the last seven decades. Israel and Palestine are claiming Jerusalem, where the mosque is located.

The Israeli State, which was officially established in 1948, traced its origins to the ancient city. Palestinians had been using the mosque prior to the creation of the Israeli State.

Currently, the mosque is under the control of Israel. The Israeli government always tries to restrict worshippers from the location. This always leads to a crisis in the area.

The international community is proposing the division of Jerusalem into two. Israel will go with one and Palestine will go with the other.
