Islam has existed for almost 1400 years, and it is one of the largest religions in the world today. The religion is one of peace, beauty and tranquility, the manners and traditions practiced by the Muslims are taught by the noble Prophet Muhammad (May peace and blessings be upon him).

Islam like some religions have places of spiritual importance that many of their adherents visit in order to be move closer to God. For Muslims that spiritual place is Mecca (Saudi Arabia) where they go on pilgrimages to worship Allah, and also because it is one of the Fundamental Pillars of Islam.

One of the places that Muslims always visit during pilgrimage is the Grand mosque, and it is there that you find the Ka'aba (a structure of great religious significance). In this article, I'm going to be showing you throwback Photos of the door of the Ka'aba before it was replaced with the current one in 1980. Check out the photo below.

This beautiful door was made in the year 1944, during the reign of King Abdul Aziz. It is made from aluminum, supported with bars of iron and covered with plates of silver plated with gold.

Check out the photo of the current door.
