See The Nigerian Apostle who Reportedly Fasted for 40 days and 40 Nights While He Was Alive
The act of fasting is a religious act which involves staying away from food for a long time, and praying along to have your prayers answered. There are lots of churches that are in the act of fasting in a particular month in every year.
There are also churches that go for over a month. However, there is a speculated time they break their fast and eat. Jesus in the Bible fasted for 40 days and 40 nights without eating. It would almost be impossible for any one to do that except through the assistance of the holy spirit.
However, there was an apostle in Nigeria who according to reports fasted for 40 days. His name is Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola, and he is one of the most popular founders of a church in Nigeria. He is the founding father of the Christ Apostolic Church Popularly called CAC. Apostle Babalola is popular for performing miracles by praying into water and asking people to use. He was also seen as a very strong man in prayer as he could pray for a very long time without stopping.
There were reports that claimed that he once prayed from a Sunday and didn't stop till Wednesday. The apostle however didn't know until he was told by other prayer warriors that he had spent over 3 days praying.

As regards fasting, there have been people who have tried to go as long as 40 days, but some of them fell really sick and had to stop . However, there was an account of the apostle Joseph Babalola fasting for 40 days and Nights without taking in anything. Some people believed that he could go that long without consuming anything because he was being spiritually fed.
