In our day and time, any pastor or church that cannot adjust should get ready for empty Church. Notice I didn't say leave your convictions. To adjust is to create allowance for the excesses, limitations and perspectives of people. When you become rigid and stringent, forget about impact. One of our fathers who have done that most remarkably, that is a model for all of us is Papa Adeboye. I've studied the Redeem Christian Church very carefully and what had been the secret of their exponential growth and influence. The key to that is flexibility not compromise. There is a difference between compromise and flexibility.
Papa Adeboye is a man of strong convictions. He is very conservative in his approach to Christianity but he realized that, if he must achieve the mandate of seeing Redeem Church in every cities and countries, he must be flexible enough and yet uncompromising. The key is to maintain your conviction but give allowance for the conviction of others. Let them be able to find a place in your vision. That's why Papa Adeboye began to open different model of Redeem branches and so you can see a Redeem branch that is conservative, yet still adhering to their foundational tenets and you can see one that is quite modern, that you may not even know it is Redeem. Papa Adeboye job as leader is to ensure that the central leadership sustain the foundational model, and the understanding of Redeem values. This is the winning strategy and that's why there is Redeem Church in France, South Africa and other countries.
