
Pope Francis who is the head of the Catholic Church and also the king of the Holy See has on Thursday received the outgoing German Chancellor whose name is Angela Merkel as she paid a farewell visit to him in the Vatican city. She would also be having talks with the Italian prime minister whose name is Mario Draghi. Merkel and her husband came to the Vatican city where they had a private meeting with Pope Francis. This is the fifth private meeting she is having with Pope Francis.
Angela Merkel is the daughter of a protestant pastor and Pope Francis has spoken highly of her. After the meeting with Pope Francis, she would be having another meeting with Draghi who is the prime minister of Italy. On their arrival to the Vatican city, they were met by monsignor Leonardo Sapienza who is the prefect of the papal household before they proceeded to entering the apostolic palace.
